Balanced mechanical seals

BV-1 Balanced mechanical seals

DIN 24960

The following force factors impact the rotating ring of the friction couple: pressure, spring strength, friction of the rubber sealing ring on the shaft and average contact pressure.

The hydraulic relief results from contact pressure reduction in the friction couple, for which purpose the shaft is step-shaped.

Thus, a trouble-free and durable operation of the mechanical seal is ensured at a pressure of up to 25 bars and a speed of up to 20 m/s (the highets Р’РЎ parameter).

The mechanical seal of BV-1 type is often used in pumps in refineries, petrochemical plants and process industry.

The secondary seal is made on the shaft by means of an O-ring or PTFE ring wedgewise.

The seal design ensures low-cost maintenance due to the use of easily replaceable parts.
